As a Steward (Dishwasher), you will be a key part of the kitchen and will be responsible for working in club kitchen areas using large dish machines, manually washing pots, pans, sorting and stocking clean dishes, glassware and silverware. Additional responsibilities include heavy lifting, working with chemicals, emptying trashcans and sweeping/mopping.

You will maintain the overall cleanliness of the Artisan Club restaurant kitchen areas and certain Guest areas. You may work indoors or outdoors, cleaning all kitchen equipment, tools and supplies as well as all dishes, glasses, and equipment required to serve our Guests. You will work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with other kitchen team members or inside club dining areas.

Responsibilities:

• Load/unload dishware, glassware and silverware
• Manually scrape plates, utensils and other dishware prior to washing and scrub large pots and pans at a pot sink
• Hand-polish items such as silverware and glasses
• Sort pots, pans, dishes, glassware, flatware and utensils and restock into designated locations
• Properly handle cleaning chemicals and keep supplies safely stored and organized
• Work around food products including but not limited to beef, pork, poultry, fish, shellfish, gluten, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, egg, and dairy products
• Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the area by sweeping, mopping and scrubbing kitchen floors, cleaning floor drains, coolers and freezers, washing and removing dirty towels, and replacing all trash cans and liners
• Empty and sort trash, recyclables, and compstables appropriately, including removing all cardboard boxes and placing in appropriate recycle area
• Monitor water cleanliness in the pot sink and in the dish machines
• Perform deep cleaning according to deep cleaning schedule or as needed
• Clean and polish all large kitchen equipment (i.e. ovens, stove tops, counters, sinks, food warmers) and clean inside all hot boxes
• Assist food and beverage team in the setup, transfer, and cleanliness of banquet and catering equipment (hotboxes, speed racks, rolling stock etc.)
• Clean exhaust systems and surroundings
• Follow proper sanitation and HACCP procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

• You must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for this role
• Flexible/adaptable to working in a variety of areas and working conditions
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Proactive and prioritizes safety
• Basic verbal communication skills and enthusiastic about interacting and helping Members and Guests

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working as a steward/dishwasher at a full-service restaurant 
• Experience working 4/ 5 Star resort, fine dining restaurant, or private club environment 
• Knowledge of cleaning and kitchen equipment 

Additional Information:

The pay rate for this role in California is $23.65 per hour.
