Sr. Chemical Engineer - Power Generation Location: Southeastern Montana Compensation: $120,000-$130,000 + Bonus + Full Benefits + Relocation
A power generation company operating in U.S. wholesale energy markets is seeking a Senior Chemical Engineer to lead plant chemistry and wastewater treatment programs supporting safe, compliant, and reliable operations.
This is a hands-on leadership role focused on plant chemistry control, wastewater systems, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
MUST HAVE (Non-Negotiable)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical preferred) - 5-7+ years of chemistry experience - Direct wastewater treatment systems experience - Experience in one of the following:
Power plant
Industrial manufacturing facility
Municipal/government utility
Candidates without wastewater and industrial/power/utility experience will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead plant chemistry and water treatment programs to ensure regulatory compliance and system reliability - Oversee wastewater systems and environmental compliance - Provide technical guidance on boiler chemistry, cooling water, and plant water processes - Partner with operations and maintenance teams to resolve chemistry-related issues - Drive performance, safety, and cost-efficiency improvements - Maintain required regulatory documentation and reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering required - 5-7+ years of plant chemistry and wastewater experience - Strong knowledge of water treatment systems, chemistry control, and environmental standards - Experience in industrial, power generation, or municipal utility settings - Demonstrated technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration
