Activities

  • Use test equipment to test, troubleshoot and calibrate process instrumentation and controls.
  • Be familiar with programmable controllers and their application to process control .
  • Calibrate and repair all types of instrumentation used for measurement and control of all process variables flow, pressure, temperature and level.
  • Troubleshoot and repair the plant D.C.S. when necessary.
  • Must have the ability to troubleshoot motor controls and associated instruments.
  • Technicians who meet the above skill requirements, but are not familiar with the plant process, will be considered Associate Instrument Technicians and have the same job requirements as first class Instrument Technician with the exception that he will not be required to work alone when given job assignments in the area until he has demonstrated that he has acquired the necessary skills to perform the job safely and efficiently.
  • *Loss control responsibilities include: Understanding, supporting and compliance with all plant policies, procedures and applicable regulations; conducting applicable Loss Control Challenge activities, including inspections and audits as assigned; completion of assigned Loss Control action items; and completion of regulatory and other required training.
Candidate Profile

  • Must have at least four years of experience as either a First Class Maintenance Electrician or Instrument Mechanic or an Associate Degree or equivalent formal training in electrical or instrument technology.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of maintenance area.
Additional Information

  • Must be able to read and work from P&I flow diagrams, instrument loop drawings, electrical control drawings and ladder logic diagrams.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and callouts as required.
  • Must be willing to work rotating workdays or shifts as required.
