Job Description

Randstad is seeking a skilled Forklift Mechanic for a premier industrial equipment client. This role is designed for a mechanically-minded professional with a deep background in diagnosing and repairing heavy machinery, specifically material handling equipment. Hydraulics experience is a requirement to succeed in this role.

salary: $55,000 - $70,000 per year

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnostics & Repair : Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on a variety of forklifts, including sit-down, reach trucks, and cherry pickers.

• Hydraulic Maintenance : Diagnose and repair hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, and hoses to ensure smooth and safe lifting operations.

• Preventive Maintenance : Conduct routine inspections, oil changes, and part replacements to ensure equipment safety and operational efficiency.

• System Overhauls : Perform complex repairs on engines, transmissions, and mast assemblies.

• Electrical Systems : Diagnose and repair battery systems, motor controllers, and electrical wiring on electric models.

Required Qualifications

• Hydraulics Expertise : Must have demonstrated experience with hydraulic systems from any previous mechanical role (heavy equipment, automotive, or industrial machinery).

• Technical Knowledge : Proven background in internal combustion engines and electrical troubleshooting.

• Precision Skills : Ability to read technical schematics and blueprints to identify system faults.

• Tooling : Must possess a comprehensive professional-grade tool set.

• Safety Standards : Commitment to following all OSHA and company safety protocols.
