The Opportunity

Our client's growing law group is seeking a sharp, dedicated Family Attorney who is prepared to zealously represent their clients in all areas of family law. This role requires an individual who can combine exceptional legal skill with deep empathy to assist individuals navigating sensitive and complex situations.

You will be responsible for representing the firm's clients in a variety of matters, including prenuptial agreements, divorce, alimony/spousal support, child support, child custody, child abuse, and domestic violence. The ideal candidate has proven experience handling a range of sensitive legal issues and can maintain composure, negotiate effectively, and argue persuasively, even in emotional and high-stress court settings.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations

The Family Law Attorney will be expected to perform a variety of duties to ensure effective client representation and case management:

  • Create, draft, and finalize a high volume of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders.
  • Represent clients effectively in court proceedings, hearings, and trials as required.
  • Communicate and collaborate efficiently with senior partners and paralegals to manage the civil litigation process from inception to resolution.
  • Assist clients effectively by thoroughly understanding their needs, analyzing the legal situation, and strategizing the proper course of action.
  • Manage the equitable division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings.
  • Successfully represent both plaintiff and defendant sides of family law cases.

Qualifications

Required

  • Undergraduate degree and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
  • Active member in good standing of the State Bar.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of dedicated experience working on family law issues.
  • Proven experience handling real estate aspects within family law/divorce proceedings.

Preferred

  • Board Certified Specialist in Family Law (or working toward certification).
  • Previous criminal justice or other relevant legal background.
  • Member in good standing and actively involved with the American Bar Association (ABA).
