Track record and experience of TMT business building and growth with a proven ability to manage complex and relentless change.
• A thought/industry leader in the TMT Corporate Banking sector.
• Knowledge of complex Corporate Banking product suite including Debt, Trade and Working Capital, Cash and transactional products, and FX.
• Broad knowledge of risk management and control and accounting policies and financial control.

Salary / Rate Minimum: 220,000

Salary / Rate Maximum: 300,000

This role is based in New York.

Purpose of the role

As a Relationship Director in Technology, Media and Telecom Coverage within the Corporate Bank you have responsibility for; Covering a portfolio of existing and prospect Technology, Media and Telecom, building deep customer relationships and providing excellent client service built on a hub and spoke global coverage model. You will be developing the portfolio through increasing wallet share and winning new business mandates across CB products (Relationship Lending for CIB clients, Transaction Banking, Liquidity solutions, Escrow services, Trade & Working Capital and FX), CIB products, as well as Barclaycard. In the role you will establish and nurture profitable partnerships with both corporate and individual clients. It's the bridge between the bank's offerings and clients' needs, ensuring mutual benefit and long-term success. 

Accountabilities

• Management of client relationships to identify the clients financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance to support the analysis of data obtained from various sources, including the investment portfolio and cash flow, to identify trends, insights, areas for improvement and additional services to support client needs.
• Research and understanding of the client's industry trends, regulatory landscape, and competitive environment to inform strategic recommendations.
• Design of customised solutions that address the client's specific needs and objectives, incorporating a range of products and services from the bank's portfolio.
• Communication of the value proposition of proposed solutions, justification of recommendations, and negotiation of terms that are beneficial for both the client and the bank.
• Provision of guidance to clients to support their financial decisions, offering expert investment advice, risk management and wealth management strategies support, and updates on market trends to ensure a positive and continuous relationship.
• Assessment of financial, legal, and operational risks associated with client relationships, and implementation of measures to minimise potential losses.
• Documentation of all client interactions, transactions, and agreements to ensure transparency and auditability, and communicate findings effectively to support product development, service offerings, and the overall bank strategy.
• Monitoring of client satisfaction, revenue generated, and other relevant metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of relationship management efforts.

Or for an individual contributor, they lead organisation wide projects and act as deep technical expert and thought leader, identifying new ways of working and collaborating cross functionally. They will train, guide and coach less experienced specialists and provide information affecting long term profits, organisational risks and strategic decisions..
• Provide expert advice to senior functional management and committees to influence decisions made outside of own function, offering significant input to function wide strategic initiatives.
• Manage, coordinate and enable resourcing, budgeting and policy creation for a significant sub-function.
• Escalates breaches of policies / procedure appropriately.
• Foster and guide compliance, ensure regulations are observed that relevant processes in place to facilitate adherence.
• Focus on the external environment, regulators, or advocacy groups to both monitor and influence on behalf of Barclays, when appropriate.
• Demonstrate extensive knowledge of how the function integrates with the business division / Group to achieve the overall business objectives.
• Maintain broad and comprehensive knowledge of industry theories and practices within own discipline alongside up-to-date relevant sector / functional knowledge, and insight into external market developments / initiatives.
• Use interpretative thinking and advanced analytical skills to solve problems and design solutions in often complex/ sensitive situations.
• Exercise management authority to make significant decisions and certain strategic decisions or recommendations within own area.
• Negotiate with and influence stakeholders at a senior level both internally and externally.
• Act as principal contact point for key clients and counterparts in other functions/ businesses divisions.
• Mandated as a spokesperson for the function and business division.
